HPL means High-Pressure Laminate. These are made of resin-impregnated cellulose papers that are pressed using high pressure and temperature. The top layer is made up of décor paper and below are layers of kraft papers.
Does HPL and Plastic Sheets the Same?
The manufacturing process of these two sheets are almost the same. However, the top layer of the plastic sheet is made up of a translucent layer while HPL is not.
How Long-Lasting is an HPL?
Depending upon the application, an HPL sheet can last up to 15 years.
